Yoshikazu Suenobu, 86, of Pahala died Feb. 21 at home. Born in Puna, he was a retired Ka‘u High School science teacher, taught at the former Waiakea Kai School, member of Naalehu United Methodist Church, former Scoutmaster and U.S. Army veteran during the Korean War. Visitation 9-10 a.m. Tuesday (March 21) at Naalehu United Methodist Church. Funeral service at 10 a.m. Burial at noon Wednesday, March 22, at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Casual attire. Born in Honalo, she was a retired county office assistant for U.S. Department of Agriculture Farmers Home Administration, charter member of Kona Daifukuji Orchid Club and member of Kona Senior and P&R Bowling leagues, Kona Hongwanji Mission and its Buddhist Women’s Association, Kona Japanese Civic Club, Kumamoto Kenjinkai and Akitsu Kumiai. Visitation 3-4 p.m. Sunday (March 19) at Kona Hongwanji Buddhist Temple in Kealakekua. Memorial service at 4 p.m. Casual attire; no flowers.
